Country music superstar George Strait has enough hits to last a lifetime, so why not a two hour musical?
Isn't it time for a country artist to have their songs featured in a Broadway show? We've had musicals produced around songs recorded by Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, even ABBA. So why not George Strait?
There doesn't seem to be anything that the Texas country superstar can't do successfully. He's been in movies, created a widely popular team roping tournament, and has stayed on top of the country charts for 26 years.
The man has recorded hundreds of songs, I'm sure there are 10 or 12 to base a Broadway play around.
Can't you picture it?
The scene: A Texas honkeytonk (of course)
The plot: A lonesome cowboy getting over a relationship, finds a new love, but he's got to make a choice between the possiblility of new love or riding the rodeo circuit.
Songs to be included:
"I Hate Everything"
"Give it Away"
"Blue Clear Sky"
"The Chair"
"All My Ex's Live in Texas"
"Amarillo By Morning"
"One Night at a Time"
"I Just Want to Dance With You"
"Run"
"Living and Living Well"
Just for kicks - let's "Run" with it.
