Country music takes center stage in this entertainment industry event.

The 33rd Annual People's Choice Awards were held on Tuesday night in Los Angeles, and two of the hottest country music acts came home winners.

Carrie Underwood won for Best Female Singer, beating out Faith Hill and pop-icon Shakira. She didn't stop there as she also took home the trophy for Country Song with "Before He Cheats." Underwood's revengeful song beat out "What Hurts The Most" by Rascall Flatts and "When the Stars Go Blue" by Tim McGraw.

On the male side of things, Kenny Chesney was honored as the Best Male Singer, finishing ahead of Toby Keith and Tim McGraw in the fan voting.

Rascall Flatts claimed two victories on the night as their "Life is a Highway" (from the movie Cars) won in two categories, Favoite Song From a Movie and Favorite Remake.
