Newcomers are enjoying an extraordinary amount of success on the country music charts.
Wow! What a year so far for the fresh faces of country music. This calendar year alone, there has been 5 new artists that have hit the top of the country charts.
OK, I'll give you time to see if you can name all five, and NO - I'm not counting Bon Jovi as a new artist.
Here's a hint for one of them.
The latest new #1 artists haven't hit #1 on Billboard yet, but is #1 on the Mediabase chart. It's only a matter of a week before they claim that spot on Billboard.
So what are we to make of this trend of rookie success. Are country fans starving for some new blood? Are radio stations expanding their playlists?
The answers seems to be yes and yes. Although the popularity of the big names like Toby, Kenny, and Faith hasn't seem to diminish, their chart dominance has - which is good for everyone.
The more artists and songs being played by radio, the happier most country music fans will be. Not too many people want to hear the same songs and same artists over and over again throughout the day. Variety is good.
Country music needs to keep searching for the next big star, so the fact that there has been rookie success this year is very encouraging.
Here are the five first time #1 artists and the songs that got them there.
Jack Ingram - Wherever You Are
Why - Jason Aldean
Jesus Take the Wheel - Carrie Underwood
If Your Going Through Hell - Rodney Atkins
Leave the Pieces* - The Wreckers

I think the Wreckers have the most unique sound of any of the new artists I've heard recently.

That seems to be the key - standing out from the crowd...There are times that all these young emerging artists seem to sound the same.

I am a regular guy who loves country music and I want to share with you this extremely talented artist.
Her name is Kimberly Jean I ran across her on MySpace one day while I was browsing around. The second I hear her I was blown away by her music and I was HOOKED for life.
If you like country music like I do then you will love this amazing young country singer and songwriter. Her name is Kimberly Jean. She just released her first CD and let me tell you it is kick butt country music. I promise you that you will love it. Please take a few minutes of your time and give her a listen. You can find a sample of all the songs on her CD here at www.kimberlyjeanmusic.com
BUT if you get in on the ground floor of KJ's career and buy her CD now you will received a "special something". Here's the letter I received from Mr. Sutcliffe about this.
Dear Todd,
Thanks for your kind words. She truly is a star in the making, and we are glad that you are enjoying the CD. At the moment, we are trying to attract major record company interest, in the hope that we can reach the huge market that Kimberly deserves- she is a real talent, and deserves to be known on a very large scale. And that all starts with people like you. Please, pass the word to friends, family, call your radio stations, and with the help of people like you, we can get this heard by millions.
I am keeping track of everyone that buys the initial pressing of the CD (we have only made a limited amount) and when the time comes, those that were in on the ground level, will be rewarded with something special.
Thanks for your kind words, and don't forget, spread the word

So get your CD now and get in on the ground floor of this SOON TO BE SUPERSTAR's career now. Later on you can say that you were there before she became famous.
Please let me know what you think of her CD and/or if you play it so I can pass on your thoughts and news to KJ and Mr. Sutcliffe.
Thank you,
Todd Homman
